Our shop
A neighborhood shop that kept the standards of a dealer bay
Carlisle Auto Motors has been on Carlisle Avenue long enough that we now service the cars of people who came in as teenagers with their first used sedan.
We started as a small repair bay with two lifts and a parts shelf. What grew the shop was not advertising, it was the fact that people kept sending their families to us. That only happens when the work holds up and the invoice matches the estimate.
Today we handle everything from a check engine light to a transmission rebuild, we keep a real parts counter for the people who prefer to turn their own wrenches, and a few times a year we sell a car we have inspected and repaired ourselves.
We are not the cheapest shop in Paterson and we do not try to be. We aim to be the one you do not have to visit twice for the same problem.

How we work
Diagnose first
We do not replace parts hoping the symptom disappears. Testing costs less than guessing.
Explain in plain words
You should leave understanding what failed and why, without a lecture and without jargon.
Quote before we start
The number we give you is the number on the invoice unless we find something and call you first.
Respect the budget
When a repair can wait safely, we say so and tell you what to watch for in the meantime.
Contact
Tell us what the car is doing
Calling is fastest, especially if the car is undrivable. If it can wait, send the details and we will get back to you with next steps and a price range.
